FAQ

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of many molecules found within the cannabis plant. It has a ton of beneficial properties commonly used to support overall wellness. CBD oil is extracted from the plant leaves and flowers and is used in all parts of the world for a variety of things.

What are cannabinoids and what do they do?

Active compounds called Cannabinoids get produced by the cannabis plant. The Cannabinoids found in plants are called phytocannabinoids, but they are also produced by our own bodies, which are called endocannabinoids. Cannabinoids collaborate with our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which promotes balance or homeostasis. CBD directly impacts our ECS system mostly through activating outside receptors and enzymes. It is the result of this interaction with our ECS that we feel the affects of CBD.

What is the difference between CBD and hemp?

Hemp is mainly grown for fibers and food. Hemp seed oil comes from pressing the plant’s seeds while CBD oil is from the leaves and flowers. Hemp along with Hemp seed oil also have benefits, but there are no cannabinoids. We extract CBD from phytocannabinoid-rich hemp, also known as PCR. This is a proprietary strain that is super rich in cannabinoids, more so than a typical hemp plant that the majority of producers use.

What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

While they are both types of cannabis, Marijuana contains THC, which is known as a drug that causes a high. Hemp contains trace amounts of THC, but without the high. Our products go through a patented process to remove the negligible amount of THC. Since CBD isn’t psychotropic, it does not cause a high which means that you can use it while driving, working, or exercising.

Is CBD considered safe?

All of our products undergo stringent testing to ensure they are free of possible contaminants. There have not been any incidences of overdose or illness known to be caused by consuming CBD oil. CBD is totally non-toxic.

Do your products contain THC?

All our product lab results show less than 0.0% THC with the exception of our Full spectrum Truly Tropical tincture as it is 0.3% THC or less. All of our lab reports are posted to our website long with QR codes on each product that link directly to the results for that batch.

What is broad spectrum vs full spectrum?

CBD products that contain a mix of cannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds  are considered broad spectrum. Many CBD products are made using what’s called CBD isolate, which does not contain all of the beneficial compounds that broad spectrum does. Having those additional compounds, terpenes and flavonoids work together produces an “Entourage Effect” which can help produce greater effects than just isolated CBD. Similar to Broad Spectrum, Full spectrum CBD typically retains those trace amounts of THC found in the hemp plant. Legally, the amount of THC must 0.3% or less.

How will CBD make me feel?

Some benefits include, but are not limited to improved sleep, increased focus, and a better mood. However, the results may vary and effects may be different from person to person.

What are terpenes?

Terpenes are a class of compounds produced in the cannabis plants flower clusters. Terpenes are what gives cannabis distinct aromas and have been used throughout history in aromatherapy. Terpenes are also used in a variety of foods and cosmetics and are recognized as safe for human consumption.

How much should I take?

This largely depends on a variety of factors and ranges from person to person. The most common report for maintaining balance has been reported as a serving of 5 to 50 milligrams per day. It can be taken throughout the day or at set times based on what you are using it for such as sleep or post workout.

Should CBD be taken with food?

There are typically no issues with being taken on an empty stomach, however taking it with food may help to reduce any potential side effects.

What are the side effects?

There are no known negative side effect, however, large servings can cause drowsiness. If you are trying to be focused and alert, you may not want that side effect and so you could avoid large servings.

Do you test for potency, pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants?

Absolutely. All our products go through stringent testing by third-party labs to guarantee both purity and the accurate concentration of cannabinoids. This also includes testing to ensure that our products are free of potential contaminants and contain 0.3% THC or less.

Do I need a doctor’s prescription to use CBD?

No, you do not need a prescription or special marijuana card to purchase or use CBD. It is not a drug. You may however find that some doctors may recommend it for certain conditions depending on the state that you live in.

What is the shelf life of CBD?

CBD products will degrade over time and should be used within the recommended time frame based on the specific product. They are best stored in airtight containers in a refrigerator, or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep away from heat. Please see the product expiration dates listed on the product.

Will CBD oil show up on a drug test?

We would not expect that our broad spectrum products to produce a positive result for THC using typical industry-standard testing methods. Bare Rebel cannot, and will not make any guarantee as to any result that an individual experiences. We advise that you consider any risks involved around detection before using any product.

Can I take CBD while taking other medications?

There is a lot more research that needs to be done in this space. We advise you to consult with your doctor or medical professional if there are concerns with any prescription medications you are currently taking.

How long until I get the benefit from CBD?

The effects of CBD are typically subtle and take about 30 minutes or more, however results have been reported to be more immediate when using a tincture. Results vary by individual.

What extraction methods do you use?

All Bare Rebel products contain CBD oil that is produced by using a gentle method of extraction. This helps retain beneficial compounds without the use of harsh solvents.

Are your products gluten free?

All Bare Rebel products are gluten free.

What is the endocannabinoid system?

Th ECS (endocannabinoid system), is a system of neurotransmitters and cell membrane receptors produced by the body’s central nervous system. These transmitters interact with the cell membrane’s cannabinoid receptors at the cellular level to help adjust physiological processes.

What is the entourage effect?

The variety of compounds found in both broad and full spectrum CBD oil have a certain effect on the body because terpenes affect your body’s response to cannabinoids. This combination leads to the entourage effect. CBD isolate, which is not broad or full spectrum, will not create that same benefit.

Is your CBD oil water soluble?

CBD oil itself is not water soluble, however, our goes through a patented process that encapsulates the CBD oil into nano-sized emulsion particles that are water soluble. This leads to greater bioavailability, meaning it allows the CBD and its beneficial properties to be more easily absorbed by the body.

Which product is right for me?

This really depends on your reason for taking it and your personal preference. We recommend our tinctures and/or capsules for daily support.
